Dalian Works is the English archive of a one-person studio in Changsha, China.

We build AI films from scratch — a 93,000-character novel, decomposed into 1,029 shots, rendered across three machines in eleven days — and we write long serial fiction the old way, one chapter at a time. Everything published here is a translation of a Chinese original, edited for English readers.

The essays fall into two groups: production notes on the engineering of AI filmmaking (prompt schemas, shot decomposition, render queues, cost control), and craft notes on writing and world-building for serial fiction.
